Old ICF-C25 Sony Dream Machine Alarm Clock

This is my old ICF-C25 Sony Dream Machine alarm clock radio as you can tell the clock function no longer works but the alarm will still ring if i set it 1 min after hooking up a power supply, this has no AC transformer but I can run this off a 9 volt battery (Radio only) and the yellow and black lego tire thing you see there that is the volume control “knob” and that is not original I put that on there along with the actual volume control part, ive added an antenna from an old car telephone and I basically rebuilt this thing im gonna work on it some more and improve the antenna hookups so they are more permanent i just rigged a wire to the tuner (clear square thing) and ran that to the car phone antenna, well tell me what you think of this rig, i have more rigs like this ill have to get em on here, enjoy the video

This almost reminds me of the Sony ICF-C20W that I fixed recently. I found it at Goodwill for $2.50 last Sunday. The radio worked, but the clock would only show the colon. I couldn’t get it set, either. Turned out that someone had modded the clock circuit somehow (2 extra caps + snooze switch was wired wrong). Just for fun, I decided to restore the original circuit (no schematics; just the diagrams on the PCB!!), and lo and behold, the clock works now!

yeah this thing has been hacked and hacked im surprised it even still works, just the radio does. and its cool how som manufacturers that print the actual connections on the board like what they are and what they do.

Ok, this is a weird question but, do you know what year this model came out? I have the exact same alarm clock and I have had it as long as I can remember (I’m almost 20 years old) Mine still works perfectly and I use it everyday to get up for school lol. I was just curious when this clock came out to see how old mine actually is. Hahaha thanks

I dunno try looking the model number on Ebay or google you should find it. I got this in the 90′s so id say its maybe 15 years old.
