Alarm Clock Phone
The improvement in the area of telecommunications has brought with it a number of developments such as the Alarm Clock Phone. Basically it is a combination of a phone and a clock, usually it also comes with a radio and can also include a CD Player or an MP3 Player
PROS
The main advantage of a Phone Alarm Clock is its efficiency. Instead of two or three separate gadgets. It is all in one. Other advantages include being able to answer the phone whilst still in bed, although some people might consider this a disadvantage.
Some Clocks come with answering machines or could be cordless.
CONS
However if the phone rings in the middle of the night while you are asleep, you could get a nasty shock and woken up by its strident ringing. Another disadvantage is if one component breaks you would have to replace the whole thing rather than if it were separate.
So having an Alarm Clock Phone can be a great advantage. You could spend a lazy Sunday morning in bed listening to the latest news on the radio or listening to your favourite CD, all with out having to move an inch if the phone rings.
I have a couple of roommates that do not have a typical alarm clock at all –> there phone is an “alarm clock phone” but not exactly how I interpreted your article. They have switched to simply using their phone to see what time it is, to wake them up in the morning, to alert them when the bread needs to come out of the oven, etc. Cellphones are marvelous multi-devices nowadays, that’s for sure.
